It is a statement directed to the Government of the nation and the parliamentary groups with the possibility of acceding to it. We reproduce in the news part of the text that can be read in full by following the link (in the title of the news, along with the date):
"Echoing us deep unrest produced among historians, archivists, journalists and other social groups by the indefinite and unjustifiable closure of access to historical documents of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and cooperation and the Ministry of defence of Spain, from H-SPAIN asked the competent authorities the immediate reopening of such funds and the guarantee of its accessibility for all researchers in the shortest possible time.
We believe that it should be in no way justify the burden is being imposed to access to this historical documentation by implausible arguments about the risk that its diffusion would entail for the defence and the security of the State or to the relations of Spain with third countries. 10,000 documents in defense of the years 1936 to 1968 were ready for its declassification, after the mandatory test, before the Ministry canceled its publication in may 2012 in a decision that may be considered, as a minimum, of arbitrary. Less is still understood that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared do secret? or do reserved? practically all of your documentation, including your file historical funds composed of diplomatic papers from the 15th to the 20th century - which had been consulted hitherto biggest unimpeded by historians from around the world."
