"To the communist, during a lot of years have not left us explain what are, what propose; they were a lot of years of calumnias, of persecutions... They feared that the village heard us... But now, after long years of fight by the freedom, the Communist Party has conquered for all the Spaniards the right to listen him…".
Like this sintetizan, in the recording, 40 years of persecution, exile and secrecy suffered by the PCE, but also by the rest of political strengths that in his day supported and defended the II Spanish Republic. The democracy was returning to the country after what seemed an interminable dictatorship.
During the process of political Transition to the democracy in Spain, the legalisation of the PCE meant a really important milestone, and no carente of difficulties. With the death of Franco the 20 of November of 1975 did not finish obviously the dictatorship, and still remained a long and complex way for visiting. A way in which the legalisation of the political parties, and especially the parties of lefts, resulted paramount, between other things. Well it is true that the modification of the Law of Political Associations of the 8 of February of 1977 established that it was the High court the one who decided about the legalisation of the political parties, but on the PCE there was bass reticencias by part of the most reactionary sectors, between which found an important part of the army. Nevertheless, the legalisation of the Communist Party took place the day 9 of April of 1977, in full Saint Week, taking advantage of that the majority of military found of permission.
In reality, from December of 1976, the PCE found in a situation of relative tolerancia. Already in February of this year had returned of the exile his main leader, Santiago Carrillo, remaining unseen, without leaving to keep contacts with the opposition. The Communist Party of the Valencian Country is the name that took the militants of the PCE in the Valencian Community from 1976, adopting a socialist and nationalist content with federal structure.
Regarding the recording in himself, treat of an evidence of first order in the context of the Transition: the electoral program of the PCPV in the first democratic elections celebrated in Spain from 1936. Electoral propaganda to charge of Julián Antonio Ramírez and Adelita of the Field, in a period in which no only had left to work in Radio Paris, but that besides had returned from France after his long exile, once dead Franco, although without abandoning his militancia in the PCE. Once in Spain, fixed his residence in Alicante.
With regard to the PCPV, it is necessary to say that only obtained 2 seats in the elections of June of 1977, of the total of the 19 obtained by the PCE in all Spain with roughly 10% of the votes. Result surprisingly low for a so present party and active so much in the years of secrecy, as after his legalisation. At the beginning of the decade of 1980, a grave internal crisis supposed the exit of the sectors renovadores, by a part, and of the nationalists by another. In 1986 it integrated in the coalition of Esquerra Joined of the Country Valencià (EUPV), current federation of the PCE in the Valencian Community.
