"Radio París" was a very important platform for the dissemination of dramatic works written by authors of the exile, adapted to the radio language, as says the hispanist Gerard Malgat (Malgat, 1997; 51-52). Max Aub, José Bergamín and Salvador de Madariaga were key figures, but not the only ones. There were representations of Rafael Alberti, Julio Angulo, Miguel Angel Asturias, Joaquín Arderíus, Manuel Azaña, Alejandro Casona, Jacinto Grau, María Martínez Sierra, Ezequiel Endériz, Antonio Porras, Rafael Delgado,... Works that Franco remained strictly forbidden.
The own André Camp, director of emissions between 1958 and 1968, was closely related to the theatrical scene of Paris: collaborator on journals, his brothers were famous actors. In fact, the own Camp worked in production and radio adaptation of numerous plays. As also translated into French near sixty plays throughout his life (for more information, see here-Paris: André Camp or a radio life, Gerard Malgat). It was during the stage of this director Julian and Adelita intervened largely theatrical initiatives that were emerging, almost always in collaboration with the Institute of Hispanic culture of Paris. Julián Antonio Ramírez remembers that stage in his memoirs:
"Of them quickly some of the most important ones I remember: at the Theatre de L'Alliance Française (equivalent of the Spanish Instituto Cervantes), two performances of works by Alejandro Casona, exiled author (...)." At the Theatre du Grand Guignol, Hall specialized in gruesome shows of terror, we collaborate with a Latin American group which obtained a great success (...). I protagonicé old jealous, which earned me some applause (...). At the Theatre des Champs Elysées, a show of a puppet-marionette corporeal (silhouettes of wood) by Alain Recoing, 'El Retablo de Melisenda freedom' with music by Salvador Baccarisse. Adelita and I had a notable success with the melodrama of entitled Camp night frost. In the great Amphitheatre of the Sorbonne, full stop on a Sunday morning, we present a sacramental, Calderon. I, the main character, can not remember the title"(Ici Paris, 397-399).
The theatre has always been a central element in the lives of Adelita del Campo and Julián Antonio Ramírez. It should not be forgotten that Adelita had an early career as an actress of varieties, that never leave; While that Julián Antonio Ramírez had collaborated in the travelling theatre La Barraca, he directed Federico García Lorca. Partner had met in a theatrical event during your stay in the refugee camps. And in case outside little, was the section of radio plays of the ORTF which served them as gateway to the template of the Spanish language broadcasts.
There was even a project of creation of a stable group of classic Spanish Theatre, in which Julian and Adelita were involved, along with the Spanish actress Josita Hernán, but finally it was suspended following the murder of Grimau, personal friend of marriage. Broadcasters would not follow embarked on a project that, as they knew at that time, was funded by the Francoist regime.
Large number of recordings related to theatrical activities, both in the collection Ramirez/ Del campois preserved throughout the catalogue of "Radio París" as in the collection of André Camp, provided by the BDIC. Not only about radio plays itself, but in the broad sense, almost always with bindings on the exile and in the surroundings of the city of Paris, known place of great tradition in the performing arts.
